Two brothers were chopped to death by unknown miscreants in Badamtola area on Khaja road under Chandgaon Thana in the port city on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Faridul Alam, 45, and his younger brother Abu Siddique, 42, sons of late Abdul Sabur in Munshibari area.
Confirming the incident, Abdur Rauf, Officer-in-Charge of Chandgaon Police Station, said the miscreants killed the two brothers at around 11:15pm.
“It is assumed that they were killed over previous enmity. Police are trying their best to unearth the inner mystery of the double murder,” said the OC.
However, the police, did not arrest anyone in this connection till the report was filed on Saturday morning
