Two criminals were killed in separate gunfight with police in Harinakunda upazila and Kotchandpur upazila early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Abdur Rashid, 30, son of Islam Uddin Mandal of Sreerampur village and Hazrat Ali, 42, of village Ghomra Danga.
Ershadul Bari, officer-in-charge of Harinakunda Police Station, said acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive at Rishkhali Amtala area.
Sensing the presence of law enforces, criminals opened fire at police which triggered them to fire back, leaving Hazrat dead on the spot.
On the other hand, on secret information policemen also conducted a drive at the field of Dora village.
Rashid died in a gunfight between police and their associates.
The bodies were sent in Jhenidah Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
