Two children were killed and 35 injured as a bus skidded off the road and plunged into a roadside pond in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj this morning.
The deceased are two-year-old Shahin, son of Hossain Miah and six-month-old Nasima, daughter of Bakul Miah of Kishoreganj district, reports our Narayanganj upazila.
Police and witnesses said the Bhairab-bound bus from Dhaka fell into the pond in Purinda area around 9:15am.
Later, locals recovered the bodies of Shahin and Nasima from the pond water.
The injured passengers were admitted to different local hospitals.
