A man allegedly stabbed his wife and daughter to death following a family feud at Hirajheel Muktanagar area under Siddhirganj upazila in the district early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Mayna Begum, 29 and her daughter Nurjahan Akther Swapna, 13.
Siddhirganj police station Officer-in-Charge Alauddin confirmed the matter to banglamail.
Sumon Miah locked into an altercation with his wife Mayna over a family dispute on Friday night. Later, he stabbed his wife and daughter with a sharp weapon around 4 am Saturday, leaving both dead on the spot, he said.
On information, police arrested Sumon from his house and seized a sharp weapon from the scene, he added.
