Poor Hefajot

1. The leaders and activists of Hefajot-e Islam are not political persons and their identity was not political per se. It is the government of Bangladesh which frequently coloured them as the helping hand of the opposite political parties which is unfortunate.

2. Most of you know that the govt of Bangladesh is trialing the opposition leaders mostly popular Islamic scholars and leaders accusing war-criminal which is considered as a fake trial in international arena by the world leading war-criminal expert lawyers. The govt. tries to tag this with the movement of the hefajot-e Islam which is also seriously unfortunate and we condemn such initiative of Bangladesh government.

3. We have seen that hefajot-e islam emerges when some secularists with their atheist friends started mocking Muhammad [sm] too badly to utter. They did not come out on the street like the atheist who demand hang of the Islamic leaders and media editors through extra judicial mechanism, ban pro-islamic electronic and print Medias. Even they did not say anything when the government was trying to massacre the Islamic parties in Bangladesh. They come out on the street when they find that it is the government which is giving shelters the atheists who mocked Prophet Muhammad [sm] and declared them as the shahed in a 90% muslim habited country. So they are not motivated by the political agenda. They proposed a 13-point demand to the government to safeguard Quran-Hadith-Muhammad [sm] and Islam in constitution of the country and in practice. Because islam is the basic source of culture and belief of most of the people of the country. Last month they arranged a huge meeting and rally demanding implementation of their 13-point demand within one month.

4. The 5th may procession of hefajot-e islam was their continuous protest program against the government for sheltering the atheists who mocked Muhammad [sm] and altered the verses of the holy Quran. They declared not to leave Dhaka, the capital city until their demands are met. But the government took it as a key issue of their fall from the power and declared protesting of the procession of the poor Aleems of the country who because of their love and affection and commitment towards islam come to protest government actions favouring the atheist. The government took the chance and darkens the whole area of Dhaka city where the alems took their positions, stopped the transmission of two pro-islamic tv channels broadcasting live of the procession, and started randomly killing of the sleeping-praying- gossiping-poor alims with great hatred. A large number of hefajot members were killed, injured and still lost.

5. We think the alims of the country came out to protest thinking it as their responsibility of faith to protest such actions of the government of Bangladesh. We honour their efforts, acknowledge their sacrifice and expect that they would not leave their demands unfulfilled in the next days, insallah. We show our protest against government operation on the mass muslim people and alims and pray to allah to help the Bangladeshi Muslims to maintain their tolerance and perform their responsibility of faith in coming future.
