Awami League must go as they failed to protect the citizens

It was 27th February, 2004, when Professor Humayun Azad had come under attack in the same TSC intersection of the Dhaka University campus, where writer and blogger Avijit Roy murdered this time. Following the attack on Humayun Azad, the then opposition Awami League and its allies condemned ruling BNP led 4 party alliances as they failed to provide security to a distinguished citizen. Awami League also claimed at that time that, militancy is on the rise as the BNP led government is nurturing them. Awami League also did no mistake to use the incident of that attack on Humayun Azad as a militant act under government backing..

But now what?? Why Avijit is murdered when Awami League is in power?? almost 5 days have been elapsed, not a single killer is arrested till now. Why? Is the government protecting the murderers or trying to make any other issue. Is they planning to highlight the issue in the global arena and to claim that, keep us in power otherwise Bangladesh has to experience such gruesome murder repeatedly..i do not know but i think things are not that much easy now.

Regrettably this government has failed to provide security and to protect citizen. They have lost the capacity to rule the country and the murder of Avijit is the best evidence of my claim.

Police is everywhere in Dhaka. On the city street, you will get policemen after every 10 steps. Dhaka University and the Book fair area is more restricted and always being kept under tight vigilance. How such a horrible and tragic incident has taken place amid such security? How much deteriorating law and order situation is prevailing in rest parts of the country is truly assumed from this incident. People are not safe now. A government should not let work in the office as it failed to keep the people in peace.

Actually, there are thousands of police but they are being used to suppress the opposition and to ensure the security and safe movement of the VIP people. Frequent usage of law enforcers to crush the dissidents also destroyed the dignity and professionalism of the force. We need a proper environment to live.

I truly condemn the brutal murder of Avijit Roy. Such barbaric and inhuman act can never resolve the crisis, rather it deepens ....
