A woman has been found murdered at a boys’ hostel in Rajshahi.

Relatives of Fazila Khatun, 35, allege her former husband might have committed the murder.

Motihar police OC Abdus Salam said the body was found at private-owned ‘Omar Faruk’ hostel around 11pm on Monday.

Fazila, daughter of Asaduzzaman of Mirzapur, was married to Naushad Ali of Sonadanga two years ago but had separated two months ago.

OC Salam said Fazila’s body had no clothes on when it was discovered at a hostel room.

“We suspect she was raped before being slaughtered,” Salam told bdnews24.com.

Salam said Fazila had been missing since Monday evening.

Locals contacted police when they found the body at the hostel not far from where Fazila’s parents live.

Quoting her relatives, the OC said Fazila moved in with her parents after her separation.

Naushad, Fazila’s former husband, had allegedly contacted Fazila over phone on Monday afternoon after trying for a while.

The woman’s relatives suspect Fazila had gone to the hostel to meet Naushad.
