A youth was electrocuted in Bangabazar area in the capital on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jahid Hossain, 25, a shop staff and son of late Abdul Khalek hailed from Sariatpur district.
Kabir Hossain, colleague of Jahid confirmed the matter to banglamail.
He came in contact with an electric wire while taking mobile pot in Bikrampur automobile shop around 9:00am, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead around 9:30am.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
