A Sub-Inspector was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Nizampur of Mirsarai upazila in the port city early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Masud, a sub-inspector of Mirsarai police station.
Mehedi Hasan, Sergeant of Joranganj highway police outpost confirmed this to the banglamail.
He said: “A truck hit Masud when he was standing at Nizampur area around 3:30am, leaving him dead on the spot”.
“Police seized the trucks but the drivers of both truck managed to flee”, he said.
A case was filed in this connection.
